WHY THIS WEBSITE IS IMPORTANT

…learn and teach, find black owned businesses, business investors and continue the conversation of change. Change begins with us.

This website is important to me for many reasons. I believe it is important that black in America are able to see that we have accomplished in the United States, and be proud to be black in America. I am aware that slavery ended in 1865, and there are many that believe freedom began, at that time. That is not the case. Yes, things were different as we went through the process of reconstruction, which was a positive time. During this time period blacks were running and elected to office, starting and running our own businesses, and continuing to contribute to the growth of our country.

Reconstruction did not last and was replaced Jim Crow. We were no longer slaves, but were second class citizens, without the full benefits of being an American. We could live in the US, where we were told, we were not allowed to attend the school of our choice and could not vote. If we showed to much progress,(i.e. The black Wall Street) it was destroyed. Now is the time to restore all that was taken from us, but by building it ourselves.

In a community the residents do more than buy and sell, that is simply a marketplace. But in a community, we build relationships, help each other, build each and purchase from one another.

My vision is we create a virtual community. We don’t have the luxury of sharing a few authentic communities, but we are strategically placed throughout the US. In this virtual community we can learn and teach, find black owned businesses, business investors and continue the conversation of change.
Change begins with us. We spend time asking others to treat us fairly. Let’s start by uniting and growing internally. Exercising the buying and political power that we already posses, will be the catalyst to change.
